Finding Font

Up until the recent iteration, I was using Montserrat. It's a good choice due to its readability and professional appeal, leveraging variable font technology. However, considering the diverse personalities of this website, I needed a more versatile font to truly express myself. Based on my research, I've decided that Recursive is the ideal next move.

Why does this font align with my goals?

Recursive isn't simply a typeface; it represents a deliberate exploration of pushing boundaries by its creator, Stephen Nixon. His primary motivation was to design a font that will meet his requirements as both a designer and a developer. Traditionally, most typefaces with both sans-serif and monospace variants are designed proportionally first and then adapted into a fixed-width alternative. With Recursive, however, he intentionally began with a monospace and then adapted it into a sans-serif.

This typeface has five variable axes, unlocking a significant range of combinations. You can see a demonstration of this versatility by visiting my home page.

The axes of this typeface include:

  1. Weight
  2. Mono
  3. Slant
  4. Cursive
  5. Casual

This ultimately enables me to effortlessly blend between programmer and other characters.
